Practical Information

Before you start with the application, please have the following documents handy (electronic format):

• Photography
• Motivation letter

Students will need their personal laptops for their studies at PH Luzern.

Recognition Of Studies

After acceptance, applicants will be asked to submit a Learning Agreement signed by his/her coordinator at the home university to ensure recognition of studies undertaken at PH Luzern (this does not apply to students doing one month practicum).

Finances

Incoming students are responsible for financing their living costs in Switzerland while studying at PH Lucerne. To obtain a residence permit in Switzerland incoming students will be asked to furnish proof of sufficient financial means (minimum around 7'500 CHF / 5 months) i.e. confirmation of a grant, a letter signed by the parents, a bank statement, etc. The cost of living in Switzerland is rather high, students should budget around 1000 to 1500.- CHF per month. Small monthly stipends may be available from PH Luzern.

Health Insurance

International students studying at Swiss universities are required to have appropriate health insurance complying with Swiss laws. In general, exchange students can fulfill this requirement by presenting confirmation of coverage from their health insurance at home. (For European students, the European Health Insurance Card is valid). Please ask for confirmation from your health insurance company, confirming your health coverage is valid in Switzerland.
