Application Deadlines for Semester Stay

Documents to Submit

Before you start with the application, please have the following documents handy (electronic format):

• Photo
• Motivation letter
• Confirmation of English level B2 (only for semester stay)

Study Programme

PH Luzern offers an international programme that is compulsory for all incoming students. The international classes are held in English. Therefore, a B2 level in English is required. The Learning Agreement can be supplemented by choosing courses from the regular course programme.

Finances

Incoming students are responsible for financing their living costs in Switzerland while studying at PH Luzern. The cost of living in Switzerland is rather high, students should budget for around CHF 1500.- per month. If the mobility semester is completed within the Swiss-European Mobility Programme, exchange students generally receive a financial grant.

Health Insurance

Insurance complying with the Swiss Obligatory Healthcare Insurance Law is compulsory for anyone wanting to stay in Switzerland for more than three months. For students from EU countries, the European Health Insurance Card (EHIC) will be accepted. Students from Non-EU countries can try to exempt themselves from Swiss insurance by proving that they have a contract with an adequate insurer, which covers all health costs that might occur while staying in Switzerland.
