Ziele und Inhalte
The opportunity for individual specialization enables students to establish their own focus areas, thereby independently promoting the development of one or more professional competencies (see reference framework) in one or several areas of action. The module includes the following elements for individual specialization:
(A) Elective Assignment (Wahlpflichtarbeit): The elective assignment is a scientific paper that explores a self-selected, teaching-related research question. In line with the Scholarship of Learning and Teaching, students can become researchers themselves and empirically investigate their research question.
(B) Project Collaboration: Students actively participate in an ongoing development or research project at the PH Luzern. In development projects, new teaching methods or resources are created, for example. In research projects, a teaching-related research question is empirically examined. Possibilities for collaboration should be discussed with the subject coordinator.
(C) Further Opportunities by Agreement: In this specialization, students can set their own thematic focus. Examples include designing a lesson unit based on the approach of inquiry-based learning or problem-based learning, planning a study week in an English-speaking country, exploring extracurricular learning opportunities in the surrounding area, or engaging in virtual exchange in English instruction.
Form des Leistungsnachweises
Written Documentation: The outcome of the individual specialization will be documented in written form. The design of this criteria-based documentation will be determined in consultation with the supervising person.
Participation and Presentation in the SEK II Colloquium: Students enrolled in the module will participate in the SEK II colloquium during that semester and present their work. (The individual specialization does not need to be completed at the time of the presentation and may still be in development). The nature of the criteria-based presentation will also be agreed upon in consultation with the supervising person.
