Ziele und Inhalte

To effectively teach English, meticulous lesson planning and the use of diverse teaching strategies are essential. This planning involves individual lessons, units, and even multi-year curriculum plans. Lessons should be focused on developing both competencies and content knowledge, with tasks designed to utilize both communicative and linguistic abilities. Students should comprehend the fundamental elements of language and how to apply, analyze, and reflect on them in a classroom setting.

Teachers should also be mindful of the diversity among their students and tailor their instruction to meet individual learning needs. Evaluating learning processes and outcomes is another crucial aspect of teaching. Teachers must determine what, when, and how to assess. Students should engage critically with the material and produce assignments grounded in theory that could potentially be published or presented at conferences.

This module covers the following topics: foundational principles of foreign language teaching, language acquisition principles, receptive and productive skills, teaching grammar, vocabulary, and pronunciation, creating and utilizing teaching materials, curriculum and lesson planning, and assessing learning processes and student achievement.
