Ziele und Inhalte

Objective
Students develop the skills necessary to design task- and content-based lessons and effectively integrate literature into their teaching.
Content
• Teaching receptive skills
• Literature in language teaching
• CLIL (Content and Language Integrated Learning)
• Task-Based Learning (TBL)
• Developing TBL and CLIL teaching materials
• Working with authentic materials and adapting it for the heterogeneous classroom
• Differentiation strategies

Learning Outcomes
By the end of this module, students will be able to:
• Explain the significance of teaching literature in language education.
• Explore and apply various methods for integrating literature into the language classroom.
• Understand the principles of Task-Based Learning (TBL) and implement them in lesson planning.
• Understand the principles of CLIL and apply them effectively in lesson planning
• Differentiate instruction within CLIL and TBL lessons and when working with literature in class.

a) Purpose of the assessment
Students demonstrate their understanding of theoretical and practical aspects of the module and their ability to apply them to relevant questions.

Students...
• can explain the significance of teaching literature in foreign language education and know how to integrate it into their lessons.
• Know how to teach receptive skills.
• understand the principles of task-based learning (TBL) and content and language integrated learning (CLIL) and can explain and critically evaluate the rationale behind these two approaches.
• can plan a teaching sequence based on TBL or CLIL.
• know how to differentiate within CLIL and TBL lessons and when working with literature in class.

b) Procedure
The assessment consists of a written exam lasting 90 minutes.
The course book Open World is an integral part of the exam, and students will be required to refer to it for specific tasks.
Throughout the module, students will receive formative feedback during coaching sessions to support their learning progress.
c) Outcome
The exam will be evaluated based on predefined criteria, with feedback provided in written form.
d) Assessment criteria
• Understanding of theoretical concepts
• Application of theoretical knowledge to practical questions
• Structured and coherent presentation of responses
• Clear and precise argumentation

e) Feedback on assessment
Feedback will be given in written form.

f) Important dates relevant to the assessment
The exam will take place at the end of the module, within the module’s timeframe.
