Ziele und Inhalte
Students exhibit comprehensive expertise and insight in the planning, execution, and assessment of teaching English at upper secondary schools.They choose two topics from two different semesters.
The topics explored in didactics modules include the following: what constitutes an effective English lesson, methods of language acquisition, structuring and planning lessons, the use of educational materials, mastering the four language skills (reading, writing, listening, and speaking), methods of teaching grammar, vocabulary, and pronunciation, evaluating and applying different assessment techniques, organizing academic terms and years, strategies for beginning and concluding lessons, instructing using non-fiction, stimulating cognitive engagement in English classes, applying critical theory in educational settings, fostering intercultural competence, integrating cultural elements into teaching, fostering personal and professional growth, understanding the motivations behind teaching literature, determining the appropriate content for literature classes, implementing various teaching techniques for literature, engaging with different literary forms such as novels, short stories, plays, and poetry, preparing for and administering Matura exams, discussing significant cultural titles, and designing genre-specific literature exams.
Form des Leistungsnachweises
The oral exam in English Didactics is a crucial assessment component designed to evaluate students' understanding, communication skills, and ability to think critically and spontaneously in the context of English language teaching. The following outlines the format and guidelines for the oral exam in English Didactics:
Preparation Time: Students will be given 30 minutes to prepare for the oral exam. During this time, they should review the assigned materials on English Didactics, organize their thoughts, and develop a clear and concise presentation strategy.
Examination Duration: The oral exam will last for 20 minutes. During this time, students will be expected to present their ideas, respond to questions, and engage in a meaningful discussion with the examiner on various aspects of English Didactics.
