Ziele und Inhalte

In the professional practical training for the English Teaching Diploma at Maturity schools, students develop professional competencies for teaching English and prepare for a successful career entry. They become familiar with the subject-specific requirements for planning, conducting, and evaluating English lessons and can manage these tasks successfully and responsibly.

Based on their subject knowledge and didactic expertise, and considering current curricula, students can provide targeted and motivating learning opportunities that promote the development of competencies in English among students. They can also take into account the students' learning prerequisites, adequately assess, and support their learning processes.

The professional practical training provides opportunities for students to share their enthusiasm and interest in the subject. Building relationships plays a central role in this context. Students can responsibly manage their interactions with individual students and the entire class while communicating openly and transparently. They also demonstrate a respectful attitude towards practice teachers and other professionals within the school.

Furthermore, they can plan and coordinate the diverse organizational tasks of an English teacher. The professional practical training offers a learning environment where students can reflect on their teaching based on practical experiences and further develop it in collaboration with the practice teacher, supported by subject-specific and didactic knowledge.

In handling the complexity of daily tasks, they can assess their own resources and capabilities and manage stressful situations effectively.
