Ziele und Inhalte

CONTENT
This lecture course introduces the students to some core perspectives on culture, identity, otherness and diversity. By exploring how we perceive cultural diversity and negotiate intercultural relations, the lecture also discusses the competences needed for intercultural learning and teaching.

AIMS
By the end of the module students should be familiar with some basic concepts needed to understand and discuss cultural diversity, and helpful to assess their own experience in a culturally diverse word.

They should be able to
• elucidate key moments of their language stay and reflect upon them from a theoretical and practical perspective;
• describe and critically comment on personal incidents as experienced abroad;
• discuss and relate theoretical models to in-class situations.

With reference to the "Referenzrahmen" of the PH Luzern, the module prepares students for the following "Handlungsfelder":
